Appliance Rental FAQ

Q: What is the minimum rental period?
A: The minimum rental period with most companies for domestic rental is usually 18 months for brand new items. Shorter terms of between 12-17 months are usually available for ex rental items and 9 month contracts are available for students.

Q: Do I have to have the same products for 18 months?
A: No, the rental companies that we deal with give you options to upgrade or change item when ever you like.

Q: Do you have to have good credit to rent?
A: All rental agreements apart from student deals are subject to credit, so credit has to be fairly good. Generally, the better your credit the higher the value of items you can rent. If your not sure of your credit you can check it online for free.

Q: How long does it take for delivery of equipment?
A: Once you've applied for rental you would usually recieve products within 7 working days. The amount of time it takes can depend on when you can be their to sign for it. Most companies offer Mon-Sat for delivery.

Q: Do i have to have insurance to rent an appliance?
A: All rental items need to be covered by insurance, just to make sure they're covered for things like accidental damage and theft. You can get your own household contents insurance (which you may already have) or you can do it through the rental company.

Q: Is their a minimum age to rent products?
A: Yes, you have to be 18 or over to rent products.

Q: Can i pay for someone elses rental if they live at a different address?
A: Yes, as long a you dont mind the contract going under your name and payments coming out of your bank account. You will also need to be at the property for installation to sign the paperwork.

Q: Apart from the monthly rental and possible insurance, is their any extra costs?
A: Yes, when you open a rental account, most companies charge an admin fee of £15 to cover the cost of credit checks, processing etc. It's payable on the installation itself along with your first months rental.

Q: What happens if a product breaks down?
A: You dont have to worry about breakdowns as an engineer will be out the same day to fix it, and if they cant fix a problem you'll be left with a replacement of the same or better quality.

Q: What happens if i move address?
A: When you move address you can usually take products with you as many of the major rental companies cover large areas. (If you know where you'll be moving let our rental advisors know, so we can make sure we set up your rental with a company that can cover both areas)
